Rehan Javed is a hair artist in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. His studio — RJ Hair & Nail Studio, on the first floor of John Tower near Gulfam Complex — is where the transformations on @rj._studio_ happen: global colour, highlights, balayage, caramel blends, long-hair glow-ups and nails.

Every transformation on this site is a client who sat in the chair, and every caption is the one the reel was posted with; the salon atmosphere shots are stock photography until the studio itself is photographed. If a number appears here, it is on the poster or on the profile.

Colour, not a chart

A global colour is customised to your skin tone and the light you live in. Highlights are placed by hand around the face. Balayage is painted so it grows out softly. The consultation at the mirror decides all of it — what you want your hair to say, what it has been through, what it can take today — and the price is quoted before anything is mixed.

Rehan trains at workshops and seminars with the industry's educators — Godrej Professional among them — and brings every technique back to the chair in Rewa.

The studio shares its floor with Fresh Look spa & salon (@freshlookrewa) — makeup by @aashikhan_makeupartist and skin care by Anjum Javed. Hair, nails, makeup and skin, one staircase: for a wedding week or a Saturday, the whole look is on one floor.
